Evaluating your job postings including: differences between description templates and how to make it compelling

If you take away one thing from this post, let it be that Job Descriptions are used INTERNALLY and Job Postings are used EXTERNALLY. The reason being is that job descriptions can be a bit… well… dense. It can be a lot of information for an individual to take in and read through every bullet point and check off whether they fit what the needs are for the position. People who can fit every single bullet point on a description are known as unicorns (to me). The reason being that job searching is like dating, meaning you sometimes must go through many jobs, jobs descriptions and applications before finding the perfect fit.

Writing a post to get the right audience is almost like setting up the right profile for dating when you need to understand your audience to attract the right people. The best way to find the right people is to talk to the people who are already in the position you currently trying to fill. Check out this article from hrtalentiq for some tips and for more detailed information on how job descriptions and postings can be used differently.
