Jon Muench, AIF®, CPFA
Jon came to Wilson Albers, an Alera Group Company, in 2020 after spending 30 years building his
retirement-plan knowledge at several companies—including his own financial practice, which he
managed for more than a decade. He advises fiduciaries on best practices for qualified retirement plans,
providing recommendations for effective plan design and revisions, monitoring investment lineups, and
even offering education for groups and individuals in the plans. Explaining complex issues and “seeing
the lightbulb go on” for clients and participants is one of the things he loves about his role.
Jon’s most recent professional development to increase his industry experience was attaining the
Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) designation.
The 10th of 11 kids, Jon is a graduate of Simpson College who moved to the Seattle area from Iowa
in 1993. He enjoys traveling, hiking in the mountains, exploring state and national parks, and sampling
craft beers. He also is continually striving for BBQ perfection and hopes to be certified as a Master
Gardener eventually as well. Jon and his wife have a college-age son and a West Highland White Terrier.
